History of Paramount+
On September 15, 2020, it was announced that CBS All Access would rebrand as Paramount+ in 2021, and that it planned to perform more international expansion under the new name. ViacomCBS CEO Bob Bakish stated Paramount was "an iconic and storied brand beloved by consumers all over the world, and it is synonymous with quality, integrity and world-class storytelling". Several new series were also announced for the service, including true crime series The Real Criminal Minds, MTV's Behind the Music – The Top 40, a revival of the BET series The Game, Taylor Sheridan's Lioness, and The Offer — a drama based on Albert S. Ruddy's experiences filming The Godfather. On January 19, 2021, it was announced that Paramount+ would launch on March 4, with information being released on February 24 during an investor event. The company announced that no updates will be provided for apps on second or third generation Apple TV once the service relaunches. ViacomCBS announced during their investor event on February 24 that Paramount+ would premiere new 2021 theatrical releases from Paramount Pictures (such as A Quiet Place Part II, Mission: Impossible 7 and PAW Patrol: The Movie) 45 days after their theatrical release, while other future theatrical releases from Paramount would premiere on the service either after their theatrical run or after their run on Epix (which reached a new deal with ViacomCBS that same day to provide content for Paramount+, allowing recent releases from Paramount to be available on the service among other titles). The relaunch occurred as announced on March 4, 2021, with additional streaming content being launched and further rebranding efforts taking place at that time.

About Paramount+
Paramount Plus is the new streaming service from ViacomCBS, designed to compete with the likes of Netflix, Disney Plus, Amazon Prime Video and HBO Max. The service – a rebranded version of what was CBS All Access – launched on 4th March 2021 in the US. Its biggest draw? Over 30,000 on-demand TV shows from CBS, MTV, BET, Nickelodeon and Comedy Central, along with live sports coverage and 24-hour rolling news. Paramount Plus – or Paramount+, as it's officially called – will also tempt viewers with a host of original shows, including new episodes of 90s sitcom Fraiser. Subscribers can even watch selected Paramount releases – including the Mission: Impossible 7 – within 45 days of their theatrical release. And just recently, Paramount Plus added HDR10+ support. Paramount Plus offers two subscription tiers. The ad-supported Base plan costs $5.99 per month ($4.99 from June onwards) and includes access to 30,000 TV shows, 2,500 movies, Paramount Plus Originals and live sports, including NFL games. The Premium tier – $9.99 per month – promises "limited" commercials, access to 4K, Dolby Vision and HDR content, and the ability to download and watch 4K videos offline. You also get extra live sports coverage thrown in, via CBS local affiliates.
